The world's leading trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis, and biotechnology took place this year purely virtually due to the Covid19 restrictions. Visitors had the opportunity to view 268 exhibitors in six virtual exhibition halls for five days. According to the organizer, MesseMĂŒnchen, more than 21,000 guests from 152 nations were counted, who participated in an extensive presentation program.
This year, the special show 'digital transformation' was particularly in demand. More than 20 companies demonstrated cross-manufacturer smart communication of laboratory devices and innovative software solutions.
At the technology hub FLOWlab, we presented together with partners TUDresden, 2mag, Hirschmann Laboratory Equipment, and Better Basics Laboratory Supplies the automated, user-guided process control for dosing and mixing samples. In the demonstrated process, the example of a contract synthesis was presented, where iLIMS acted as the control center and realized communication with the laboratory devices via OPC UA. The presented webinar generated enthusiasm and prompted the audience to engage in intense discussions.
